Your thoughts needed on this one........

Right now I'm running a "lightened" stock cat on the car [img]smile.gif[/img] Well, I've been thinking about replacing the cat with a test pipe. The reason for this is that I'm aware of the turbulence involved in using a gutted stock cat and using a test pipe would solve that problem. Plus a test pipe would be lighter than the cat and quoting from a dear friend of mine: "Lighter, Faster Babee" hehehe [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

What do you guys think on using a test pipe over a gutted stock cat?????

I'd just get a big cat. I'm using the 3" carsound unit. I understand lighter faster, but have you ever smelled a street car running no cat? Aside from the smell, I'm no fan of EPA but it won't be worth the few tenths you'll gain with no cat.

I didn't buy my testpipe from testpipe.com, but I love it. It really helps you at higher RPM's. Luckily down here in South Carolina we don't have emission's laws so it's easier to get away with(still illegal though?), but I warn you. If your car doesn't puff(smoke) before, it will when you put the testpipe on. Mine puffs at higher RPM's cause there's no cat to filter it out. Have fun with it though.

I bought a testpipe from testpipe.com and besides that the bung was off( if you are buying from them make sure you tell them to move it closer to the header) and the 02 hitting the front swaybar its is a nice piece. I took it off due to the big farting that is caused because of lack of resonators like JT mentioned YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Otherwise I didnt noticed that much of a difference maybe little, or maybe just the fact it is louder....Who knows....

I bought a test pipe from them but never insalled it, because the pipe was made poorly. I guess you get what you paid for.
I later bought this resonated test pipe and love it!
